WELCOME to the Digital Neuronal Operations Center / DINOC
COMING SOON: PROCEEDINGS of The DINOC Journal

At the Core of our Neocortical Soul: DINOC Our Digital Neuronal Operations Center

The DINOC Journal
Publications Pending: This Curated Site supports works beyond traditional venues: NeuroTech and NeuroLinguistics especially welcome. Ping Don for details.
Embracing a Symbolic Core
SNOPs: Basic Research into neocortical Symbolic Neuronal Operations is our mission. Allied interests e.g. The Quadrupling (addition of 3 chimp brains over 4 million years) and new intracranial-insights exemplify our priorities.
The Neuro3000 Experience
We expect to offer a stable platform for the next 20 years (no guarantees) and to fund this modest web venture for the next hundred years (circumstances permitting). Will this low key venue persist to 3000 AD? perhaps

DINOC J. PAPERS

Format will be similar to web/rXiv manuscripts: basic PDF style. Variations with suitable look/feel welcome. Must have Abstract, Bibliography and in-text citations: DINOC opts for clean, neat style for all elements. Exemplars to be posted soon. Non-profit, no-fee, informal publishing anticipated for the coming years within Systems Neuroscience, Paleogenetics and allied disciplines. Thanks to GT McConnville Foundation.

Real Connections

We anticipate a moderated science dialogue page for DINOC-related topics. Diverse opinions welcome. Cretins spewing nonsense, not so much, unless its patently hilarious: "Don't take yourself too seriously"-- David Poeppel, NBOL, Sept. 2025.

Coming Reports / Open Commentary: 2026

THESE WORKS focus on Hominid Linguistic-Cognitive Evolution which was fueled by a rough quadrupling of our neochimpian neocortex over the past 2.5 million years. Of special note is the invention of a Symbolic-Linguistic Layer that enables sharing of real-world information. Critiques and Elaborations regarding posted commentaries should be directed to dmo, Site Editor for consideration. Precis of Hominid Games: Tools, Neurons and Language. HG offers a rapid Level-Up for newbies to the neurolinguistics, hominid evolution and SNS field. This Precis conveys some core elements of HG including Niche Construction, Proto-Words, Natural Syntax => Universal Grammar, AAN-World and a modern Neuro-Generative Grammar. This foundation predates recent developments in NGG / Cyclops Theory and Hominid Constructionism. Builds upon works by Chomsky, Jackendoff, Dehaene, Poeppel and many more recent and classic authors (available via Barnes and Noble in Fall, 2026) ... Coming Soon: Commentary: Can Chimps Talk? Recordings of Chimp Call Combinations (Girard, 2025, SciAdv) are suggestive of compositional mechanisms that greatly extend the richness of auditory exchanges. Might these foreshadow the inexorable power of the hominid linguistic-layer symbolic operations? [Sr. Editor MS, in progress]. Coming Soon: Semantic Hubs vs. AAN-World. Lambon and colleagues (2017) write about the "neural and computational bases of semantic cognition". But might a more fundamental, AAN-fueled approach to Semantic Construction better explain the evolution of hominid cognitive-linguistic systems? [Site Editor dmo, in progress].
